Meeting minutes 4-17-23
Spencerport Hots Attendance: Jessica Sandler, Janice Marcello, Donna Pagano-Stott, Gail Miller. Newbie: Kristin Graves Missing: Katie Ferguson was Ill We welcomed Kristin to our LOTS meeting. Her daughter is going into 6th grade next year. We introduced everyone in our LOTS group. We took sometime explaining what LOTS is. That we support teachers and staff at Cosgrove and foster school- home partnerships. How each month we try to do a special thank you to our teachers and staff. Sometimes it’s food, snacks, drinks, events, or a fun activity. We also use our social media pages to help keep parents up to date on the on goings at Cosgrove. Teacher appreciation week is May 8-12. Janice talked to Jen at McDonald’s. She wonderfully offered to do the McDonald’s breakfast for the teachers and staff on Tuesday the 9th. She did ask if we could decorate tables for her. Janice and Donna are going to work on getting table cloths and fresh flowers to set up the tables. LOTS is going to do our Stock The Lounge on Wednesday the 10th. We will meet Tuesday evening and set everything up. Gail is going to work on setting up a Amazon grocery list. We can post the link to our LOTS media pages and parents could sign up. If parents don’t want to order through Amazon, Jess can have a drink list and paper product list that can be bought and either dropped off to one of our houses or we can pick up from their house. We are not sure the new greeter will let us have parents drop off to her. But Donna will ask her. Anything that doesn’t get ordered we can pick up ourselves. June we were going to do ice cream truck or something similar but Janice gave us the quotes and they were very expensive. We all want something fun and exciting to close out the year. But we aren’t sure what. We mentioned maybe a circus or carnival idea. Then Gail mentioned putting a note on Facebook asking families with they know any businesses that might want to help do something fun or a good idea to try. So we will put something out there and see what they say. We don’t have a follow up meeting scheduled at this time. We will text what comes up and see. If meeting is needed we will plan one.

Meeting Minutes 3/28/23
Attendance: Jessica Sandler, Donna Pagano-Stott, Gail Miller, Katie Ferguson, Janice Marcello To start off we hid the Easter eggs in the teachers lounges. We took pictures, and are going to post for the teachers and staff on the social media pages. BPT ( Building Planning Team meeting) Donna went to. Said the next year orientation will be 8/29/23 8-11am for 6th graders and 8/30/23 8-11am for 7th and 8th graders. 9/14/23 tentative Open House date. Donna mentioned her stepping down as President of LOTS for next year. She said a couple meetings are BPT meetings 2 times a month from 3-4 pm. Also the Homework Committee. Sometimes they have some sub meetings off of those as well. Mr. Centola likes having one of us attend as Parent representatives. Donna asked if anyone was interested in taking over. Jessica did say she could if she had help with the meetings. Only if no one else wanted to. Janice and Gail said they don’t mind helping with the meetings. Jessica will be LOTS President next year then. We will work on how we will adjust everything as we go. Jessica also mentioned she has someone she wanted to talk to whose daughter is going into 6th grade next year. Kristin is a neighbor of Jess and Katie who might be a great new addition to LOTS. Jess is going to ask her to come to the next meeting to see. We did discuss the bullying post that was posted on the LOTS discussion page. Mr. Centola had asked us to remove as there was inaccurate information posted. We did take it down and e-mail the person who posted it. Letting them know we forwarded the information to Mr.Centola. At LOTS we stand for Loving on Teachers and Staff. We discussed, are we a platform to get involved with anything related to bullying? As we are there to support the school but keep parents informed on things. Should we do a disclaimer or have something posted on our page as a link for informational help on those instances? We will discuss more next meeting. Teacher appreciation week is May 8-12th. Janice said her friend with McDonald’s would be willing to supply breakfast for one of the mornings again. We were thinking to check with Mr. Centola on dates they are already doing something. LOTS could stock the lounge again? We could put it up on the LOTS page to see if parents want to help again too? For June we can do a end of year appreciation celebration. Last year we did the ice cream social in the freezer. Janice mention maybe getting a Kona ice truck to come for the teachers. She will look into and let us know. We will meet again before hand we decided April 17th Monday 5pm Spencerport Hots COSGROVELOTS Meeting Minutes

Jessica will post about it on the LOTs pages so the teachers know. March: We talked about doing something combined for March and April for Easter. Donna, Jess, and Katie collected the Easter eggs in our cupboard in the 6th grade lounge and divided them. We are going to taken the home and fill them with a joke, quote or pun. Then we will put candy in them. Last year we put them all over the lounges for the teachers to find. We are going to step it up this year and get some local business gift cards and make those special gift card eggs. We will put a note in them that whoever got the egg to text Jessica and she will put the gift card in their mailboxes. We messaged Janice. She is going to make signs for the lounges. We will meet again March 28th at 4:30. We can hide the eggs and make plans for the rest of the year. On a sad note. Donna did let us know this is her last year in LOTS. She is going to be putting together a list of her duties on LOTS and see if we can find someone to fill her role. We could also have one of us be President but designate a parent volunteer to maybe attend the meetings Donna did. We will see how we can make it all work. We had hard shoes to fill.
